Yaniza Doré is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter born and raised in Manhattan, who hummed along to music before she could speak. She found her songwriting niche in soft acoustic music influenced in part by Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Sara Bareilles, and Colbie Caillat. Since opening her main YouTube channel in 2011, she’s gained thousands of subscribers and over 500,000 views. “I’m super proud of the weekly uploads I’ve been doing since 2013, and the feedback I get from my subscribers drives me to keep sharing! Sometimes I get YouTube comments or Instagram comments from young musicians telling me that I’m the reason they decided to sing. Someone once told me that they live for my covers! Like! Wow! How could I possibly stop creating then?!”

“My absolute favorite part about being a singer-songwriter is performing. Performing feels the most rewarding. I’ve been thinking a lot about how I can use music to heal or teach, rather than just entertain so I especially like volunteering at schools and hospitals where I get to sing to the patients and students. It feels mutually beneficial because I enjoy what I’m doing and they love getting a musical treat.”
Her most recent release in 2016, "Secrets," is a 10-track original album filled with personal experiences. Check out her website where you can download her music and also find out where she’ll be performing next!
"When I think about where I'd like to be in 5 years, of course I’d love to have steady income without having to give up music. But most importantly, I want to be happy. So whether this means finding a performance job that I can live off of, or finding a non-music job that gives me flexibility to create, I’ll be happy."
